Most of the landscapes in these pictures have been in the past the most violent, bloody, and dangerous borders of humankind.
Their opening was inconceivable during the Cold War and is probably the most important historical event in Europe since World War II.
Borderline, Frontiers of Peace strives to show the results of a unique change that has taken place over the last decades in Europe.
The project, that is still ongoing, consists of more than 150 images shot from 2007 to 2018 along more than 20.000 km of borders between countries at peace.
Even if these pictures have been taken thousands of km away from each other, they all provide images that are far from the stereotype that we tend to associate with the notion of border.
What is a border anyway?
